Balanced Scorecards

What makes this seminar unique to the several attempts thus far at introducing the Balanced Scorecard to Trinidad & Tobago is not only the fact that it is being conducted by a national of Trinidad & Tobago, Mr. Ermath Harrington, who is trained and experienced in this particular area of Performance Management, but also that it is being approached in this modular form. Additionally, he has had the experience of designing and implementing a Balanced Scorecard for a large organization in Trinidad & Tobago. Further to this, he has benefited from international training and exposure to other practitioners and consultants in the field and is up to date on the latest developments in the on-going evolution of the concept. Most importantly and definitely a premium characteristic is the fact that he brings practical local and international hands-on experience in the issues and critical success factors required for consideration in Balanced Scorecard implementation.

This seminar workshop is an interactive, participatory exercise that would synthesize the theoretical concepts of the Balanced Scorecard, the building and implementation skills and knowledge required, using real life modeled scenarios and drawing on the individual experiences of the facilitator and participants. Using a mix of presentations, practical exercises, case studies and groups discussion, the seminar workshop will explain the Balanced Scorecard in the context of corporate performance management. It will also highlight practical aspects of Balanced Scorecard design, implementation and deployment. The aim is not to turn the participants into experts, but to equip them with the basic knowledge, skills and ideas that would allow them to construct a scorecard from an organizational strategic plan, identify performance related issues that would need to be addressed and justify the need to the major stakeholders in their respective organizations why the Balanced Scorecard should be used to improve performance. There is also the opportunity for further consulting opportunities that may address any follow up requirements that organizations may wish to avail themselves of through the services of PMSL and its associate consultant.
